A good skincare routine starts from the inside out and while we don’t have a billionaire to bestow on you, we do have a good base skincare routine that will help keep your skin clear, your wrinkles at bay, and give you a healthy glow.
A good skincare routine starts from the inside. No matter how many topical treatments you place on your skin, if you aren’t giving your skin (the largest organ on your body, I might add) the nutrients it needs, it’s not going to thrive.
Eat your fruits and vegetables, yes, they really are good for you! Carrots are great for fighting breakouts due to the vegetable being in beta-carotene and vitamin A. Beta-carotene prevents the overproduction of cells, meaning less flaky dead cells that can clog your pores. Red and orange vegetables are proven to improve your skin and give a radiant glow, so also add sweet potatoes to your diet!
Vitamin C also helps your body build collagen so go heavy on your yellow peppers and oranges. Don’t ignore spices either, turmeric is a known anti-inflammatory. Adding this to your diet (I personally throw mine in my smoothie) can help minimize breakouts and how long they last.
After you’ve started taking care of the inside, now you can focus on the outside. A good skincare routine consists of both a day and night routine.
Cleanse your face once to twice a day, especially every evening. Over-washing your face can easily throw off the pH and microbiome of your skin, both of which are key for keeping skin glowing, healthy and clear.
We get it—you’re tempted to skip steps in your skincare routine to avoid upsetting your sensitive skin.
The thing is, when dead skin cells are left on the skin’s surface, they can get trapped within the pores, which can irritate sensitive skin even more.

Exfoliation is an absolute MUST. So if you’re not doing it yet, you need to start ASAP. It helps to keep pores clear and stimulates collagen production. Plus, it makes your skin glow and look flawless. Just don’t overdo it! When you apply them at night, they spend the time you’re sleeping working on your skin to repair and restore your skin to its youthful glow. These natural ingredients can help tighten pores, fight signs of aging, lighten dark spots, even control acne. Try a serum where one of the base ingredients is rose hips.
Vitamin C does it all. As a powerful antioxidant it helps to reduce blemishes by preventing sebum oxidation, increases the production of collagen, and helps lighten dark spots.
Both serums and spot treatments are more highly concentrated formulas designed to deliver benefits deep into skin’s layers, so it’s best to apply them as close to your skin as possible so they can penetrate without being inhibited.
With serums and treatments, it’s also important to wait at least 5 minutes so they’ve had time to absorb into skin before applying anything else.
It’s all about the face oils! Face oils have different fatty acid compositions and the impact varies on different skin types. They have unique vitamin and mineral contents, scents, and textures.
Hydrated and moisturized skin is essential to fight wrinkles and blemishes, and it supports skin healthy by reinforcing its protective barrier.

The best moisturizers for sensitive skin will keep moisture within the skin, while protecting against environmental factors like pollution, the weather and harsh chemicals, which can all make sensitivity levels soar. The best cream for sensitive skin is one that’s non-comedogenic (meaning it won’t block pores). Warm it between your palms first to help it glide over your skin. Bonus: Applying it to damp skin will help it absorb quickly, and helps seal in surface moisture, for extra hydration points!
At night after cleansing, exfoliating, and toning, Generously apply your moisturizer.
Steam your Face
So you should limit steaming your face to once or twice week. You can steam your face about 2 times a week without worrying about skin damage. If your skincare regimen includes a facial mask or serum, then you should steam your face just before applying the mask or serum.
Steam opens up your pores and helps loosen any buildup of dirt for a deeper cleanse. Opening up your pores also softens blackheads, making them easier to remove. It promotes circulation. The combination ofwarm steam and an increase in perspiration dilates your blood vessels and increases circulation.
